Sheffield United say Fleck was immediately given ‘urgent medical attention’. Journalist James Shield reported Fleck’s legs appeared to be twitching as he was laying on the turf.

Fleck was helped back to his feet wearing an oxygen mask before leaving the match on a stretcher.

The club revealed after the match that Fleck was conscious when he left the stadium via the ambulance gate.

The incident, which sparked a ten-minute stoppage, put the result into near-insignificance but Sheffield United held on to win 1-0 with Jayden Bogle scoring the winner.
